Abstract

The absence of military security is no longer the most dangerous threat to international peace and security, because water security has become more influential and a threat to the national security of any country, because it affects the existence of the life of its people, its entity, and its sovereignty. Water is one of the most basic resources that transcends the national borders of the state, so countries compete with each other. To secure a sufficient amount of water to ensure the continuation of its development plans and in a way that reflects on its status regionally and internationally, therefore, the issue of the Renaissance Dam came to prove the extent to which the downstream countries were affected in the water issue, and the negative repercussions it bears on their developmental living reality, because they depend on the Nile water to a very large extent, which It was required to follow diplomatic behavior with the upstream countries in order to find a cooperative formula that would work to settle the file of water shares in a fair manner. Also, the Renaissance Dam negotiations came as a result of regional and international interventions, and affected in one way or another the negotiation diplomacy between the conflicting parties, and in accordance with the interests of these variables without regard to the fate of the Renaissance Dam and its negative repercussions on the downstream countries and their national security.
