Turkey began to emerge on the international and regional scene, seeking to assume a regional position in the Middle East region, taking advantage of its geographical location and strategic depth to intervene in the Middle East region. This has happened since the Justice and Development Party took power in 2002, headed by Erdogan, which seeks to revive the Ottoman Empire following the approach of King Selim I, whom he takes as a role model and example.
