يسعى هذا البحث الى دراسة موضوعة الانسان المستباح في حالة الاستثناء التي نظّر لها المفكر الايطالية جورجيو أغامبين في فكره السياسي، إذ يعتقد أغامبين ان حالة الاستثناء تمثل أساساً في الفكر السياسي الغربي، ولها دور كبير في نظرية السيادة ونشأة الدولة، وإيجاد الانسان المستباح الذي يعيش في وضع استثنائي يتم فيه انتهاك حقوقه من خلال تعطيل العمل بالقوانين العادية، وهو ما تبيحه حالة الاستثناء، وقد تم تقسيم البحث الى ثلاثة مباحث، في الاول تم الحديث عن حالة الاستثناء ومفارقة السيادة، أما المبحث الثاني جرى خلاله التعرض الى الانسان المستباح والحياة العارية، أما المبحث الاخير فكان حول الانسان المستباح وأزمة الديمقراطية الغربية المعاصرة.
