Abstract

Economic security is one of the main pillars that support the stability and well-being of nations and societies. Within a complicated and interdependent global environment, energy security stands out as a key part of economic security, especially considering recent worldwide crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. These crises have revealed how fragile supply chains can be and how they can worsen inflation and affect geopolitical stability. This study looks to explore the close connection between energy security and geopolitical competition, paying special attention to the increasing importance of renewables as a factor changing this competition
