يستعرض البحث العلاقات بين العراق وكندا بعد عام 2014، ويسعى إلى تحليل التطورات السياسية، الاقتصادية، والأمنية التي شهدتها هذه العلاقات في إطار التحديات الإقليمية والدولية. ويقدم البحث تحليلًا مفصلًا للعلاقات العراقية الكندية بعد عام 2014، بهدف توضيح تطور العلاقات بين البلدين، وصولا لما أصبحت عليه الآن، ويسعى البحث إلى اختبار الفرضية التي تنطلق من أن تحقيق التوازن في المصالح المشتركة بين العراق وكندا يسهم بشكل كبير في تطوير العلاقات الثنائية بينهما على مختلف المستويات السياسية، الاقتصادية، والعسكرية، إذ إن لكلا البلدين مصالح مشتركة تسهم في تعزيز التعاون في العلاقات المتبادلة.
