Abstract

This study seeks to shed light on the goals and motives of American-Russian competition in the Eastern Mediterranean region. At the beginning of the study, I addressed the Russian-American motives and goals regarding their position in the global energy market. The study attempts to explain the security motives and national security requirements of the United States of America and the Russian Federation in the Eastern Mediterranean region, as well as shed light on the geopolitical motives related to global competition in the Eastern Mediterranean region. The study also shows the roles that both countries play in the Eastern Mediterranean region in achieving their political, military, security, and economic interests.
